Just my imagination

I wonder how many of us look at the clouds and and can recognise a shape and can clearly see that object without even trying to hard.
If you don’t do this I recommend you go do this now, it’s quite windy today and plenty of clouds, it keeps your imagination ticking over.
A good imagination will keep your brain young.

5 Star – Luxury of Life

Something re-ignited my 5 Star love just today, been playing ‘Luxury of Life’, I have the special remastered version from Cherry Pop records released in 2010, originally this album was issued in 1985.

I especially love the ‘mixes’ at the end of the CD, I do already have all of them on the original 12″ singles but obviously they are in high quality remastered sound, ‘Love take over’ has always been a favourite and there were 2 different 12″ singles to collect at the time as well as a picture disc 7″ single.

That track and several others had the talents of the group ‘Loose Ends’ on, arranging and playing on the tracks, it was ‘All Fall Down’ that brought 5 Star to the publics main attention in April 1985.

Overall 7 tracks were released as singles which by these days standards that’s incredible, the last track being ‘System Addict’ which in all honesty is so catchy that if this album was released today that’d be the 1st single.

This album spent a total of 70 weeks on the chart and peaked at number 12 on the UK chart.

I was 9 when I discovered pop music and 5 Star were one of my first interests, I had heard ‘If I say yes’ in 1986 and I went out and found ‘The slightest touch’ 7″ and that led me to finding ‘The Luxury of Life’ album which I hadn’t heard any of the tracks before this point and that is how I fell in love with 5 Star.

Social media addiction

Ok Ok Ok I have to admit I do love a bit of Facebook and twitter, and my other half is affiliated with several more of the lesser known ones, and although it’s a big connecting community I don’t remember the last time I actually went down the pub, if I am out and about then the checking of the iPhone for updates and messages is even more than compulsory it’s addictive.

What has become of me, never in a million years did I think I’d turn into this person I am. Thank you iPhone for everything you’ve provided me with and thank you for making me speak less and type more. *not sure if this is a good thing.

i love hydrangeas

I love hydrangeas, but i love Madonna more. I rented a flat for half a dozen years and just outside the back door was this incredibly large hydrangea which was actually 2 plants that had sort of been growing together over the years, it was a mixture of blue and pink heads, absolutely beautiful it was.

I’ve always loved gardening and I wish I was one of those people who was forever pottering in their garden but I’ve got a ‘more than’ full time job and I do leave the garden to take on it’s own life, but I try my best and I grow things from seed and in summer I like to pop to the garden centre and get new things so the garden has colour.

I’ll always remember the hydrangea that would get comment after comment about how big it was in my Southend-on-Sea flat, however this Madonna thing has really made me giggle cos it’s so amusing that there is such a fuss about what she said under her breath, who cares? I love Madonna and if she doesn’t like hydrangeas then so what, why give a superstar icon a single hydrangea stem, that’s the real weirdness about it, its an old English, old cottage garden type of plant, isn’t it?
